Let’s face it—shit has hit the fan. Between the pandemic, systems of oppression, and so much uncertainty…we’re all trying to figure it out. Plus, you have things you were already dealing with– depression, anxiety, relationship issues, hopelessness, existential questions… Maybe you’re tired of “blank slate” therapists. You want to explore healing in a new way, like through art and creativity. You want space to process your past & present experiences, and to figure out how you want to live in your future. You’re looking for someone who “gets” it– who validates your lived experience and who has been on that side of the couch.
I’m a queer art therapist & counselor who provides therapy that is down-to-earth, collaborative, anti-oppressive, and affirming. I use a person-centered, trauma-informed, relational-cultural approach and incorporate harm reduction, attachment theory, DBT, and Health at Every Size. I believe art can be a vehicle for healing, exploration, and discovery.
I know how scary it can be to reach out for help–especially if you’ve been let down before by those who were supposed to help you. I’ve been there, too. But I also know how wonderful and fulfilling life can be when you get the help you need. So if you can muster up the courage to take that step, we can figure out the rest together.
