Licensed Professional Counselor- Carlos Medina
He/Him/Él
Ph.D, LPC, NCC

I am open to new clients at this time.

Life doesn’t come with a strategy guide and it’s not uncommon to feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges. Whether it’s working to level up our stats, equipping ourselves for the battles ahead, or shifting our actions to better reflect the person we want to be, I work collaboratively to create a space where folks slow down, recenter, and reimagine what our possibilities can be.

In addition to being a licensed professional counselor with over five years of clinical experience, I am also a huge geek when it comes to video games, movies, and anime. These interests have been a connecting point for many of the people I have worked with and allowed for their interests to be weaved into the work we do. I use “play” as a way to understand ourselves, learn new skills, and find the fun in the work we do together (no matter the age!). I have experience working with children and adolescents, specifically young boys, as we work on managing our emotions, exploring who we are, feeling more confident, and overcoming day-to-day challenges — all while opening up communication lines between youth and their parents/guardians. My work with young adults has been centered on serving sexual and gender diverse clients. I understand the importance that culture and our identities play in our lives and ensure I utilize culturally responsive and LGBTQIA+ affirming practices. I believe people should exist fully, unconditionally, and unapologetically. Frustratingly, I recognize that various social and political factors can impede on our existence and mental wellness. Therefore, I work to understand my clients holistically with attention to strengths and environment as we work to address and overcome challenges.

I am passionate about my work and love collaborating with people and communities. There are hardly any “right” answers in the chaos of life. Let’s reimagine the possibilities together! I look forward to walking with you on your journey towards healing.
