Clinical Intern

I am not open to new clients at this time. If you'd like help finding another therapist with similar specialties as mine, or to ask about a waitlist, please reach out to team@besttherapies.org.

Hi! My name is Melanie, and I am a clinical intern, Master of Social Work student, and certified rape crisis counselor.

Before starting at Best Therapies, I was a medical and legal advocate working with survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. I have seen firsthand the direct impact of how complex trauma affects our mind and body. A vital part of the therapeutic process is unpacking the trauma we have experienced, and I am confident in my ability to support you through this process using a mind-and-body approach to help you heal.

I always utilize a client-led, sex-positive, kink-positive, body-positive, anti-oppression, and gender-affirming lens with my clients. In my work, I acknowledge and understand that the intersections of our personalities and cultural identities work together to shape our experiences. My background includes seeing people experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, sexual and sex-adjacent issues, relationship issues (romantic or otherwise), and people going through transitional periods.

Every one of us is constantly learning, and there is always room for growth and improvement within ourselves and our relationships with others. Unlearning dysfunctional behaviors and patterns is a process, sometimes short, often long, and it can be challenging. Finding a therapist you connect with is an important part of the journey, and I hope I’m the right therapist for you.
