I am open to new clients at this time.
Hi! My name is Melanie. I am a licensed social worker and certified sexual assault crisis counselor, passionate about working with people struggling with chronic pain and illness, trauma (including dissociation and dissociative disorders), depression, and anxiety.
Using a holistic and comprehensive approach, I aim to help my clients balance the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of healing. My personal experience with chronic illness and pain, as well as my professional background in crisis work, have both taught me how important it is for the mind and body to feel safe before growth can happen. I believe in using traditional methods like talk therapy alongside approaches meant to regulate the nervous system from within the body, like somatic therapy, parts work, and mindfulness.
My practice is always overtly body-positive, sex-positive, kink-informed, anti-oppressive, and gender-affirming. I also identify as a spiritual person and am happy to incorporate any forms of spirituality into our work, but only if it feels supportive and aligned with your beliefs and goals.
Building that feeling of safety often takes patience, and I would be honored to join you on the journey. My goal is to create a space where we can do deep, meaningful work but leave room for fun and whimsy along the way!
