Fraud Blocker Jenni Ford - Best Therapies
She/They
LCPC

I am open to new clients at this time.

Therapy is a co-created space for change and I describe my therapy style as person-centered and relational. I have been in practice as a therapist for 18 years. I am a non-binary and nerdy therapist who focuses on therapeutic attunement in our sessions, supportive challenge, and providing encouragement for clients to prioritize caring for themselves. I am a sex-positive and LGBTQA+/Queer human and bring that to my work. Providing support for trans and gender non-conforming teens and young adults is a very important part of my work. I want to help clients continue to develop strengths they already have. I use a range of therapeutic frameworks including Art therapy, DBT, ACT, EMDR, and even humor to support change.

I received my MA in counseling psychology from The Adler school in Chicago in clinical mental health counseling and art therapy. I am a published author and guest lecturer on Art Therapy at graduate programs in the Midwest. Throughout my career, I have worked in many different settings including private practice, hospice, inpatient, and residential treatment.

Some of my specialties include working with adolescents, grief, chronic illness, eating disorders, mood disorders, gender identity/joy, and working with other healing professionals (therapists, nurses, teachers, etc.). I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. I work with ages 12+, adults, and provide parent support.

Outside of work you will find me making art alongside my partner, hanging out with our 3 cats, writing, and watching TV. I love reading, board games, musicals, and superhero movies.
