I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with expertise in clinical interventions for depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and challenges related to sexuality and gender. I use a strengths-based, client-centered approach that integrates mindfulness, motivational interviewing, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other evidence-based modalities. My personal experiences of coming out as queer and having family members who struggle with severe mental illness have developed my passion for mental health and social justice. I love being able to connect with LGBTQ+ individuals and members of other groups facing obstacles related to systemic oppression. I also have a background in sexual health education and enjoy supporting clients through issues around relationships and sex.
I believe a strong relationship between client and therapist is the most important component for success in therapy, and it is my goal to develop a unique, genuine connection with each of my clients. My clients have described me as approachable, humorous, and practical. I aim to provide a balance of space to process thoughts and feelings along with opportunities to develop specific plans to address mental health needs and life challenges.
